Winter Camps

Winter Camps
So the summer holidays are over and it’s back to normality. The children are heading back to school, the adults are back at work and the days are getting shorter and colder.

However, here at Oxford Active rather than missing the summer holidays we are getting excited and looking forward to the winter break. Not only because this means another holiday and the chance of snow it also means our winter camps will be up and running!

During our winter camps we have a range of activities to make sure every child has something to partake in. This could involve cookery lessons where they could make Christmas inspired biscuits, art and crafts where they can make decorations draw or even construct sculptures out of Lego and building bricks. We also provide a variety of sport activities including football, cricket and even indoor assault courses for when it gets very chilly outside!

Our camps are the ideal option for parents who want to give their child a holiday to remember and keep their brains active during the holidays. It is also a great chance for them to meet and make new friends.

Benefits of After School Clubs

Nowadays many children are taking part in after school clubs. It is no longer realistic to sit back and expect a child to learn everything from a text book.

After school clubs are designed to help develop a child’s talent, skill and interest. The clubs often combine both recreational and educational factors and are created to help keep children active and interested in learning.
A massive benefit to after school clubs is that it broadens your children’s interest. They are introduced to new subjects and activities that can be both interesting and challenging to them so when they learn new skills their self-esteem grows. It also will provide them with key skills that can be very useful later on in life.
At after school clubs children are able to share their interests with other kids allowing them to make new friends and improve their confidence levels. Playing football in an after school club for example is a great way for your child to mix with new people and learn to be part of a team. It’s a great way to keep them active and off the sofa as well!
After school clubs have many benefits. As well as keeping children entertained and busy, they can prevent them from becoming addicted to televisions and computers. By giving these children ways to express their creativity whilst using up their excess energy, after school clubs will help shape their overall personalities.
Oxford Active run a variety of after school clubs in and around Oxfordshire, we also provide summer camps to keep your child active during the school holidays. Holiday Camps

During the Half Term and School holidays your kids will constantly want to be entertained. This is when a company that organises kid’s holiday camps is ideal. They will have a range of activities that your child will be sure to love.
The types of activities you can expect from a holiday camp are, sports, arts and crafts, drama, cookery and more. The camps are sure to keep your kids active during the holidays and also give them a chance to meet new friends. It’s a known fact that many kids make some of their best friends at camps and also create lasting memories.
Other half term activities can include going on day trips such as the zoo, bowling, go karting, ice skating and the cinema – these are all the things parents would love to do with their kids but simply can’t due to time restrictions.

The Activities offered can give children the chance to learn and experience new things that might not be available to them throughout the school year. It can be a life-changing experience that helps children to grow, not only because they may learn new skills, but they also grow and develop emotionally and mentally. Holiday camps for kids can sometimes be the first time that children have been away from mum and dad which can really help to build their confidence and help them grow.

Summer Camps for Kids

Summer camps can be a lot of fun, a time when kids, away from the rules and discipline at school and at home, can have a blast outside the 4 walls. It gives them the chance to take part in something that they love doing, try something new or just socialise with others their age. There is also even the added bonus that the camps can teach them something that will prove to be handy in years to come.

As far as fun and games are concerned there are a lot of ideas for activities in summer camps. While some focus on giving the kids something to think about, other summer camps have activities to teach them how to play in a team. Here at Oxford Active your child can partake in a range of activities including Football, Archery, Drama, Cookery, Bush craft, Crickets, Arts and Crafts and many more.

The Clubs and Camps are run by qualified and friendly staff for children aged 4-14 and really do have something for everyone, so avoid the disappointment and book onto one of our camps today.

In other news,

Dominic has been glued to Channel 5 after the relaunch of Celebrity Big Brother. Dominic's pick to win is his favourite actor of all time . . . Natalie Cassidy. Personally I cant look beyond everyones favourite TOWIE star Kirk Norcross as my odds on favourite. #Ilovetheonlywayisessex

For all you football fans out there, what did everyone think of Glen Johnsons tackle in the Carling Cup Semi Final First Leg last night? My first thought was Lescott was very lucky he did not make contact with Johnson or he may well of left the field on a strecher! Second thought was that after watching the replay Vincent Kompany must be fuming that not even a free kick was given! Thoughts??
